Sweet loot: obtained.
Also obtained lots of things to ramble about which I would put under read more but this laptop is being a faggot, sorry!
We had to get up at 4 and a lot of the morning was spent journeying around but it just made the day feel longer so it was all fine because we were like “Look at all this day we have! We have all the time in the world we can do ALL the things!”. Then when we got there I spent a good few hours wandering idly with Ellen and Katie and we looked at all the delightful things and and that’s when I found that really adorable bookmark and the nice owl necklace. We had a lot of leaflets and stuff thrust upon us, too, and I’ll probably end up putting most of them on my wall just because they look nice and fancy. I also found The Promise which was really exciting because I’d been fretting a little about how I was going to get it because buying things over the internet is always a bit of a hassle for me but now I don’t need to! There was a nice little collection of DVDs too, so I got Princess Mononoke, but then when I went past the same stall with Daisy later on I noticed the DVDs were divided into US and UK and I was like “Shit, what if it’s region 1 then it’ll be useless!” but it’s region 2 so it’s all good.
While we were browsing one of the stalls a group of Homestuck cosplayers walked past and the Dave came up to me and was like “Sup” and jgoutoiajgibf it was really exciting to see other Homestuck cosplayers there. After a few hours we decided to sit down and rest for a bit, so I decided I’d go and find the other Homestuck cosplayers and make some friends and whatnot. Luckily I caught them just as they were leaving the little corner by the stairs where they’d been sat and they were all really lovely and friendly and were completely sound with me hanging around with them so it was all good! We sat around nattering a bit and spent a bit of time doing a photoshoot, at one point during which there was a bloke behind us that looked exactly Daniel Radcliffe. EXACTLY like him, it was uncanny. The photoshoot was really fun despite the fact that I probably ruined most of the photos I was in by being awkward and not really knowing what I was doing. Luckily the Rose and Terezi, who were taking the photos, were really patient, and most of us were messing about and dancing anyway. We took a few Jade & Karkat photos and the Karkat was really nice and we probably spent more time pulling silly faces and generally pissing about than we did posing properly, but it made for good entertainment!
Daisy, the group’s Vriska, was really lovely and we spent a lot of time wandering all the stalls, hunting down a giant panda and sampling some Yakult. It’s probably safe to say that Yakult only holds any worth in comedic value, the stuff’s beyond grim, but got some funny reactions out of us. At one point when we were all sitting around I noticed a really good Morrigan sitting not that far away from us and oh my word it was one of the most exciting moments of my entire life and I had to try and psyche myself up for about 5 minutes before actually going and asking her for a picture but oh my god she was amazing. Towards the end of they day Daisy and I managed to squeeze through the crowds and find some floor space to watch the cosparade and even though my arse really hurt by the end of it it was worth it because there were some really good cosplayers that I hadn’t even noticed walking around.
It was all a bit quiet after that so I found Ellen and Katie then went to pick up a nice tea set as a gift for my nan then went and said goodbye to everyone that’d been patient and friendly enough to let me spend the day with them. The walk felt a lot shorter than the walk there, which was a relief seeing as I’d obtained a few blisters. Trains are really uncomfortable to sleep on, but I got a chance to read The Promise and make a start on Higurashi, so it’s all fine and dandy. We hand an hours wait in Euston beforehand so we got a chance to stop for some tea but we got a few confused looks and one woman that walked past more or less fell in love with Ellen eheheheheh the South is full of madness.
All in all, it was a really great day and for once in my life I haven’t a single complaint to make about anything because everything was brilliant!
